Cam Wood
Sam joined Northborne in 2026 and brings investment banking experience advising companies on M&A and financing transactions.
Prior to joining Northborne, Sam served as an Associate at Piper Sandler on the Information-Driven Healthcare team.
Sam earned an M.B.A. from the Carlson School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Chinese from the United States Military Academy at West Point. Before beginning his banking career, Sam served eight years in the United States Army as a helicopter pilot.
Fun Fact: Outside of work, Sam enjoys surfing when he’s not landlocked, learning new languages and spending time with his wife and son.
Troy joined Northborne in 2024 and supports transaction execution across multiple industries. His responsibilities include financial modeling and analysis, research, preparation of marketing materials and supporting due diligence, among others.
After working as a Summer Analyst Intern, Troy joined Northborne full-time.
Troy earned a BA in Quantitative Economics, summa cum laude, from St. Olaf College.
Fun fact: Troy was born and raised in Canada and is a diehard Toronto Maple Leafs fan. Given this, he played competitive hockey for over 20 years, culminating in serving as Captain of the men’s hockey program at St. Olaf College during his senior year.
Amber joined Northborne in 2024 and supports transaction execution across the firm’s middle market client base. Her responsibilities include financial modeling and analysis, research, preparation of marketing materials and supporting due diligence, among others.
She joined Northborne full-time after serving as a Spring Analyst Intern and held prior internships with Battery Ventures and Cloverfields Capital.
Amber earned a BSB, summa cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management.
Fun fact: Amber is an accomplished figure skater who has competed at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships and placed 3rd nationally with her collegiate team at the 2024 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships.
Dan has over 25 years of experience with more than 100 completed M&A, strategic advisory, and complex financing deals, bringing a rare combination of operational depth, entrepreneurial drive and financial expertise to every engagement. Prior to joining Northborne, Dan partnered with Lindsay Goldberg to co-found Sero Mental Health, a national behavioral health platform. Prior to Sero, Dan was a co-founder and Managing Director of Coker Capital Securities, a premier M&A advisory firm focused exclusively on middle-market healthcare that was acquired by Fifth Third Securities in 2018.
Dan holds a degree in Financial Management from Clemson University. He is a former Marine Corps Sergeant who served during the Persian Gulf War and was assigned to a unit tasked with conducting unconventional warfare by air, land, and sea.
Dan currently serves on the boards of Sero Mental Health and Care Predictor, is a founder and advisor to the Sero Scientific Advisory Board, sits on the Steering Committee for the Behavioral Health Outcomes Consortium, and serves on the Innovation Committee Board of the Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute.
Fun fact: Dan is a lifelong angler who grew up sportfishing and has cast a line in waters all over the world – from remote fly fishing destinations to deep-sea pursuits on multiple continents. Whether he’s chasing trophy fish or closing complex transactions, the same instincts apply: preparation, patience and knowing the waters you’re in.

Sam joined Northborne in 2024 and supports transaction execution across multiple industries. He supports the firm’s M&A practice through detailed financial modeling, coordination of buyer due diligence and the preparation of client materials, among other responsibilities.
Sam joined Northborne full-time after serving as a Summer Analyst Intern.
Sam earned a BA in Economics from Boston College.
Fun fact: Sam was a member of a premier A Capella group in college, receiving two Contemporary A Capella Recording Awards (CARA) and placing in the International Championship of Collegiate A Capella his senior year.
Adam has more than five years of M&A experience working with middle-market businesses across a variety of industries, including healthcare, industrials, consumer and business services.
Prior to Northborne, Adam was an Analyst at Vermillion Capital.
Adam earned a BA in Finance from the University of St. Thomas.
Fun fact: When Adam isn’t experimenting with the latest biohacking protocol, you’ll find him exploring the outdoors—from the Great Wall to Yellowstone to Banff—or curating Spotify mixes to fuel his love of music.
Michael joined Northborne in 2025 and supports transaction execution across the firm’s middle market client base. His responsibilities include industry research, financial modeling and analysis, coordinating due diligence and preparing pitch decks and marketing materials, among others.
Prior to Northborne, Michael worked in the Healthcare M&A group at Houlihan Lokey.
Michael earned a BBA in Finance from the University of Notre Dame.
Fun fact: Michael has a wide and varrying taste in music. He prides himself on being able to play the perfect song for each occasion, and gives himself bonus points if it’s the first time someone is hearing it.
Elizabeth has four years of investment banking experience, supporting M&A transactions and client engagements across a variety of industries. She joined Northborne as an Analyst in 2022.
Prior to Northborne, Elizabeth worked at Stone Arch Capital as a Summer Analyst, where she supported work across multiple portfolio companies.
Elizabeth earned a BA, summa cum laude, from Wheaton College in 2022.
Fun fact: Elizabeth studied at a French Immersion school growing up, sparking a love for international travel and cuisine. This, in turn, led to a favorite tradition of having Raclette every New Year’s Eve as a family.
Matt joined Northborne in 2021 and has nearly a decade of healthcare investment banking experience advising clients across medical device manufacturing, health technology, and other growth-oriented sectors.
He previously worked as an Analyst at Piper Sandler and at Northland Capital Markets.
Matt earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Colorado College.
Fun Fact: Minnesota-born and hockey-raised, Matt spent much of his early life on the ice, including competing in college. Today, he’s happiest spending time with his wife and cheering on his son’s hockey journey.
Mark has 15 years of experience advising middle-market companies on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and financings. He has completed transactions for entrepreneurs, private equity sponsors and public companies across a broad range of industries.
Prior to co-founding Northborne, Mark was a Managing Director at Cowen, where he led the Healthcare Services effort, and a Principal at Greene Holcomb Fisher. He began his career practicing M&A law at Kirkland & Ellis, advising private equity clients on complex corporate transactions.
Mark earned a JD/MBA from Indiana University–Bloomington and a BA from Augsburg College.
Fun fact: Mark is passionate about golf, though remains very average in his abilities. He’s played for 35+ years but still struggles with those 3 foot putts and has yet to find a coach who can fix his slice. If he’s not working or with his family, he’s most likely on the course or on the way to one.

Prior to co-founding Northborne, Paul led the Middle Market Consumer M&A team at BMO Capital Markets and was a partner at Greene Holcomb Fisher. Earlier in his career, he held senior roles at Piper Jaffray Companies and practiced M&A and securities law at Morrison & Foerster and Faegre & Benson.
Paul earned a JD from Cornell Law School and a BS from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
Fun fact: Paul is a massive English football fan and proudly supports Tottenham Hotspur. He has attended more than 75 matches across England, Wales and Scotland, making a pilgrimage to the UK every fall for the last 16 years. COYS!

Fun fact: Robbie has three beautiful daughters, including identical twins. An avid golfer, Robbie was a member of the University of Minnesota men’s golf team and for a very brief moment, was technically a professional golfer.

Hayden joined Northborne in 2022 and has nearly a decade of experience in investment banking and transaction advisory.
Prior to Northborne, he was an Associate in the healthcare investment banking group at Piper Sandler and started his career in transaction advisory at Ernst & Young.
Hayden earned bachelor’s degrees in Finance and Accounting from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.
Fun fact: Despite growing up in Minnesota, Hayden was born a fifth-generation Californian whose ancestors arrived there in search of gold via the Oregon Trail in 1850. He keeps his connection to The Golden State alive by traveling there multiple times per year to partake in his favorite activity: skiing.
Brad has over 13 years of healthcare investment banking experience, executing a multitude of M&A and strategic advisory transactions across physician services, behavioral health, post-acute, healthcare staffing and other key healthcare sectors.
Prior to Northborne, Brad was a Vice President at Fifth Third Securities where he advised private equity backed and closely-held businesses on complex M&A transactions. He began his career as one of the original members of Coker Capital Securities, which was acquired in 2018.
Brad earned a BA in Economics and Commerce from Hampden-Sydney College.
Fun fact: Brad was a four-year starter of the varsity lacrosse team at Hampden-Sydney College.

Eric has over 30 years of experience advising private and public companies, private equity investors and entrepreneurs on M&A transactions.
Prior to co-founding Northborne, Eric was a senior investment banker at Piper Jaffray and a partner at Greene Holcomb Fisher. Following BMO’s acquisition of GHF, he became Head of BMO Middle Market M&A. He began his career as a corporate attorney at Dorsey & Whitney.
Eric earned a JD from the University of Minnesota Law School and a BA from Carleton College. Eric has served on the adjunct faculty at the University of Minnesota Law School, the board of directors of the Wilder Foundation, and as a discussion leader for the Anderson Center for Management and Leadership Development.
Fun fact: Eric hails from Northfield, Minnesota, famous for Defeat of Jesse James Days, Malt O Meal cereal, St. Olaf College, Eric’s alma mater Carleton College, and the proudly quirky slogan “Cows, Colleges, and Contentment.” After living in St. Paul for more than 25 years, he’s discovered the State’s Capital City offers plenty of colleges and contentment of its own. The cows, however, are still in Northfield.

Landon has nearly six years of middle-market M&A experience advising privately held companies across multiple industries.
Prior to Northborne, Landon worked in Transaction Advisory Services at CliftonLarsonAllen, where he focused on industrial, business services and manufacturing companies.
Landon earned a BS in Finance and Accounting from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management.
Fun fact: After placing third in his age division in his first 5K, Landon took that as encouragement to sign up for a marathon and now balances training with weekends at his family’s lake cabin in Stillwater and outdoor adventures with his golden retriever, Bo.
Matt has over five years of experience supporting financial and professional services firms.
He earned a BA from the University of Minnesota-Duluth and an MBA from The College of St. Scholastica.
Fun fact: Matt has been able to recite the lines from Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace since watching it literally every day one summer during elementary school.
Andrew brings investment banking experience advising industrial companies on M&A transactions.
Prior to joining Northborne, Andrew was an analyst at Lazard and interned at BMO Capital Markets.
Andrew earned a BA in Finance, magna cum laude, from the University of St. Thomas.

Scott has over a decade of M&A transaction experience across the healthcare, infrastructure and food and consumer sectors and currently serves as Chief Operating Officer, overseeing the firm’s day-to-day operations, internal processes and infrastructure to ensure efficient execution across all engagements.
Prior to Northborne, Scott was a member of the Middle Market M&A team at BMO Capital Markets. He began his investment banking career at Greene Holcomb Fisher in 2013, which was later acquired by BMO in 2016.
Scott earned a BA in Economics, magna cum laude, from Carleton College.
Fun fact: Scott has not paid for a haircut in 15+ years as he cuts his own hair at home.

Fun fact: Mackenzie stays busy with four small kids but still loves to travel. She has gone viral (multiple times) due to a photo of her and her friends having a strange optical illusion during a visit to an elephant sanctuary in Thailand. Whether the photo is real or not is still fiercely debated on Reddit.
Julie has over five years supporting executives in the tech, healthcare, and financial industries. Prior to Northborne, Julie held similar roles at Brentwood Capital Advisors and Galen Mental Health.
She attended Georgia State University and Truett McConnell University.
Fun fact: Julie was an extra in the 1989 movie Major League.
Cam has more than 10 years of transactional advisory experience, with a primary focus on M&A. He joined Northborne after a successful legal career as a partner in the M&A group at Dorsey & Whitney. His significant deal experience (75+ transactions) includes both buy-side and sell-side representations across a broad array of industries.
Cam began his career at Cleary Gottlieb in New York.
He earned a JD from the University of Minnesota Law School and a BA from Wheaton College.
Fun fact: Cam has been known to dabble in the performing arts: including performances as Will Parker in the high school production of Oklahoma and Puck in the Law School musical production “A Mid-Semester Night’s Dream”. More recently, North Shore residents might recognize him as the Singing Santa Claus from the 2025 Grand Marais Holiday Parade.

Joe Schwartz
Jim brings over four decades of experience as an advisor, investor and operating executive. He serves on Northborne’s Advisory Board and is the Managing Member and Chief Investment Officer of Virentes Partners Group, a multifamily office investing in private companies and alternative assets.
Previously, Jim held senior leadership roles at Lazard Middle Market, Rendersi, The Mercanti Group, DLJ, Dain Rauscher and Aurora Capital. His advisory experience spans consumer, retail, and private equity-backed businesses.
Jim earned a degree from the University of Notre Dame.
Bill is an accomplished business leader with nearly four decades of experience across B2B services and consumer products. He serves on Northborne’s Advisory Board and is currently the CEO of private equity-backed Ruff Roofers and has served as a board member of six private equity portfolio companies.
Previously, Bill was CEO of Smart Care Equipment Solutions, leading the business through two successful private equity exits. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles at Ecolab and led marketing for major consumer brands including Kellogg’s, Pillsbury and Heinz.
Bill earned a BA in Economics and Political Science from Ripon College.
Fun fact: Bill played competitive Rugby and Ultimate Frisbee in high school and college.
Ken has more than 30 years of M&A and advisory experience spanning investment banking, venture capital and transactional law. Prior to Northborne, he led the Middle Market Healthcare M&A team at BMO Capital Markets and previously founded and led the healthcare practice at Greene Holcomb Fisher before its acquisition by BMO.
His background also includes healthcare-focused venture investing with SightLine Partners / Piper Jaffray Ventures, investment banking at Piper Jaffray and M&A legal work at Dorsey & Whitney and Kirkland & Ellis. Ken brings a multidisciplinary perspective that helps clients navigate complex transactions with confidence.
Ken earned a JD from Harvard Law School and a BBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business
Fun fact: Ken was an Academic All-American wide receiver for the Bo Schembechler-coached University of Michigan football team, and claims to have the fewest “yards after catch” in the history of Michigan football.

Joe has more than 30 years of experience in the industrial automation sector and serves on Northborne’s Advisory Board. He spent 19 years at Honeywell and later served as CEO of BRAAS Company prior to its sale to Motion Industries.
Joe went on to serve as President of Motion Industries’ Automation Solutions Group before retiring in 2021. He now serves on several private company and nonprofit boards.
Joe earned a BSME from Purdue University and an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis.
Fun fact: Joe and his wife, Tammy, have been married for 40+ years, having met in the 2nd grade.
